Website Content Development

In the past year, I have written website content for many clients in several industries including manufacturing, law, services, and health and wellness. In some cases, I wrote the content for the entire website. In others, I was brought in to write a few pages. And in others, I edited content that the client created. My favorite, favorite part is writing the About page. I love telling my clients' stories. So many professionals still have their resumes on their About page. But people want to know more about them than where they worked and where they went to school.

Check out the About page on the Dimonte Lawn and Landscape website.

While I was at MIT, I edited, proofread, and managed the production of several pivotal books for the university's Energy Initiative, including the Future of Natural Gas and On the Road toward 2050. Other deliverables included a series of books that detailed the findings of the initiative's annual Associate Member Symposium. I also had the pleasure of working with George Schultz and his team at Stanford University's Hoover Institute on the book, Game Changers: Energy on the Move, which is available on amazon.com and at Barnes and Noble. I was on the team that edited and proofread the book and I managed the review cycle from the MIT side.

Writing for Social Media

This past two years, I have been the Social Media Manager for the Colon Cancer Coalition's Boston Get Your Rear in Gear 5K. The race founder and director said that, after the first year, the race raced $10,000 more than he expected and he saw an increase of 200 participants. This year was incredible! His goal was $75,000 and we ended the campaign with more than $133,000.

He attributes this success to the focus on social media. I created a posting calendar that increased as the date of the race got closer. In the two months before the race, I was posting at least five times a week, sharing a survivor story, a sponsor story and, of course, a Throwback Thursday story every week. Before I took on the project, he was posting every once in a while, whenever he thought about it. But he had other items on his plate, like getting sponsors and working with the organizers at the Colon Cancer Coalition's headquarters. I am so glad that I was able to be on his team -- and add to the momentum. I am looking forward to working on this project again in the spring.

Blogs and Newsletters

I have been editing Diana Eastty's enewsletter for her professional organizing business, Well-Ordered Spaces, for more than two years. We recently hit the milestone of 25 issues. I enjoy collaborating with Diana and look forward to receiving her draft each month.

Business Promotions

I have been working with the Bella Sarno Restaurant, creating promotional flyers and menus. Right now, we are working on a promotional package for their banquet facility as they have a solid goal of expanding that part of their business.
